- How long does it take to get my membership book? Allow up to 7 days from receipt of your application (so long as we receive your application form, fee, postage, photo, etc). Any problems, please email [email protected].
- How do I find TVA waters / access gates? See How to find TVA Waters.
- How do I get the gate codes? When you receive your membership book by post or after you have collected it, text 07976 794880 with your full name and membership book number.
- Can I night fish? Members aged 18 and over can night fish. Restrictions apply to under 18’s. See Safeguarding Conditions for Under 18's.
- Can I fish from a motor boat, rowing boat or dinghy? No. Fishing is from the bank only, see Membership Rules.
- What is ‘concession’ membership? It means your membership fee is less if you are 65 or over and on a state pension, or you consider yourself disabled.
- Is there a waiting list? There is a waiting list for Holme Pit but usually there is no waiting list for the River or Dunkirk Pond. You can apply to go on the Holme Pit waiting list BUT you will need to attend 2 works parties to secure your place.
- Can I apply for Holme Pit membership? Yes, if you are an existing TVA member you can go on the Holme Pit waiting list (BUT you will need to attend 2 works parties to secure your place). If you email us, we'll put you on the waiting list and let you know work party dates.
- How do I add Holme Pit to my membership (or another membership option / water) to my current membership? See Upgrading your Membership. See 13 and 14 above for Holme Pit waiting list and attending 2 work parties.
- Do I have to pay the one-off £25 admin fee? Yes, all new members must pay the £25 admin fee (see below). Junior members (under 16) only pay the £25 admin fee (plus postage), and membership runs until they turn 16 (see below).
- If you renew your current membership within 6 months of your membership expiry date (see inside cover of your membership book) you do not have to pay the £25 admin fee again. If your membership expired over 6 months from the expiry date, your membership has lapsed and you are classed as a ‘new member’ and have to pay the admin fee again.
- Do I need my membership book before fishing? Yes. See Membership Rules (you are not a member until you receive your book).
- I've lost my membership book, how do I get a replacement? Email [email protected]. Your admin fee covers one replacement book, all subsequent books are £10.00.
- Can I park behind my peg? You can park behind all river pegs (subject to ground conditions). You can't park behind the pegs at Dunkirk Pond and some pegs at Holme Pit.
- How far do I have to walk to my river peg? Most river pegs are directly adjacent to parking area(s) with most being within 10m.
- I struggle with uneven ground, what are the riverbanks like? Some are relatively flat, some sandy and / or stony and some have steps.
- How long does my membership last (16 and over)? Membership runs for 12 months, You will receive an email when your membership is due for renewal.
- How long does junior membership last (under 16’s)? Membership expires on their 16th birthday. See Safeguarding Conditions for Under 18's and Junior Members (under 18's)
- Can I take a friend, my kids or dog(s) fishing? Yes, see Conditions of Membership.
